The McAllister MP2A was developed by a musician, engineer, and designer chasing after the sound he remembered hearing in his youth. The end product came from years of perfecting ideas, thought, effort, and designing components piece-by-piece to create a rich and perfect match for the much-loved sound.

PEOPLE'S INTRUSIVE THOUGHTS

Gino Vannelli

"I used the MP2 mic pre on every song on the new record. It's a perfect combination of old school and new school."

-Gino Vanelli

- Artist

Bob Stark

"I’m so happy to have eight channels of the MP2 Mic’ pre.  It’s become my goto first choice over a pretty nice group of preamps in my studio."

-Bob Stark

- Engineer

Sacha Müller

"It’s a preamp that captures a source hyper-realistically but with some punch. When you record multiple tracks through them it paints a deep and wide sonic landscape with sharp contours."

-Sacha Müller

- Engineer

Aaron Olsen

"Every time I feel done with my mix I turn on my EQ1 and immediately the mix is wider, smoother, and sonically rich without any moves made yet. The EQ1 is one of the most musical adding EQs I have ever heard!"

-Aaron Olsen

- Engineer

Mike Snyder

"This preamp is my first choice whenever I track drums or sample individual cymbals and drums. It delivers a warm, open sound with remarkable spatial depth, while its ultra-low noise floor and generous headroom ensure pristine transient detail and total silence between hits. It’s rare to find a preamp that feels this musical yet performs with such technical precision."

-Mike Snyder

- Artist

Jonny Wright

"I sold several big name pre’s after trying the MP2. Just the right balance of color and clarity."

-Jonny Wright

- Artist/Engineer

Patrick Tetreault

“One of the most musical mic pres in my studio. Clean and punchy with a dash of attitude. A first choice of mine for drum overheads and guitars.”

-Patrick Tetreault

- Artist/Engineer

Kevin Nettleingham

“From dynamic overdubs to quiet spoken word that needs clean gain, the MP2 delivers every time without noise."

-Kevin Nettleingham

- Engineer

Jason Vorpagel

"I genuinely use your MP2 on every single project I can. I have used classic Neves, SSLs, UA 610s and others, APIs, and a handful of other boutiques. But your MP2 is by far the best sounding preamp I have ever been blessed to use. For ribbon mics, tube, mics, or condensers, it is the way."

-Jason Vorpagel

- Engineer

David Goldblatt

“The McAllister MP2 preamp was recommended to me by Gino Vannelli who is very particular about how he records his voice and thought it might be a great addition for my studio to record my grand piano. Well, he was totally right about that! It’s a special piece of gear that has its own unique sound and adds a special warmth I love!! Very happy to have this unicorn to record with. Great in everything.”

-David Goldblatt

- Artist

Nick Moon

"McAllister gear is thoughtfully designed and has a very unique sonic signature. A great sonic blend for sure!"

-Nick Moon

- Engineer

Brent Rogers

"The McAllister MP2 preamps are the backbone of my studio. Housed elegantly in my Neve 500-series rack, these pre-amps deliver a pristine, robust, Class A signal path that is very transparent. The clean build and intuitive, tactile controls make them an absolute pleasure to use, and they consistently provide the high-end, professional quality I demand for every project."

-Brent Rogers

- Artist/Engineer

David Alvey

"They have an 'air' about them that I have not heard on many 500 series preamps as well as a 3D imaging of the source. Gain for days. I use them for all percussion, drum overheads, delicate acoustic instruments and other things that require some semblance of quality accurate capture of the source. I've discovered they are especially good with a detailed mic."

-David Alvey

- Engineer

David Badstubner

"I love the transient response, the depth and weight, and the headroom of the MP2."
